If you live in New York, then you’ve weathered the most terrifying nor’easter since aught-eight (at least until the next one). Well, we couldn’t think of more appropriate conditions in which to release our second EP, At Sea! Yes, that’s right. At Sea is finally here! Hooray! You can stream and purchase it here.
We’d like to thank Motherwest Studios and all of our friends, the wonderful musicians who helped us realize this record. This EP, more than anything else we’ve produced so far, represents a sea change for us. After much time spent tinkering and workshopping, At Sea truly is the launching point for the next leg of Mappa Mundi’s voyage. Thanks to all the fabulous musicians, engineers and production folk who helped us get here. Moreover, so many thanks to all of our friends and fans! It sounds trite but you’re Mappa Mundi’s backbone.
The reviews have already started coming in and they’re super encouraging! Blurt Magazine described At Sea as “sumptuous†and “sublime,†while The Deli called us “luscious,†“intense,†and “impassioned.†We’re also incredibly thrilled that Largehearted Boy picked us for their Daily Download and KDHX for their Song of the Day!
Our Rockwood Music Hall release party went fantastically. Thanks to everyone who came out for it! Now the At Sea tour continues. Follow us on Facebook and/or twitter, or sign up for our email list to get info on upcoming shows and other events. Up next is our favorite old haunt, The Way Station, on Friday, February 6th at 9pm. Then we’ll be at the new Living Room space on March 7th at 7pm.
Don’t forget to check out At Sea! And let us know what you think – we’d love to hear from you!
